The Mira Compressor Pedal by Walrus Audio is a true bypass optical compressor designed to offer studio-grade sound sculpting and sustain. It provides warm, analog optical compression with extensive controls typically found on studio units. The pedal features a Blend knob to mix compressed sound with clean tone, maintaining note clarity while offering increased sustain. It also offers in-depth control over Attack, Release, Ratio, and a Make-Up knob to maintain unity levels after signal compression. The Mira runs internally at ±15VDC for higher headroom and includes a push-button High Pass Filter in the side-chain to prevent bass frequencies 120Hz or below from engaging the compressor as much as higher frequencies.
The die-cast enclosure's exact size is 4.77" x 2.6" x 2.28” including knobs, and it operates on 9VDC, center negative (200mA minimum) power. The use of an isolated power supply is recommended for powering all Walrus Audio Pedals. The pedal is coated in a smoky grey enclosure with Cream, Orange, Red, and Dark Blue ink with art by Adam Forster.
The Mira Compressor Pedal is designed to be an always-on pedal, providing rich, full clarity in notes and a responsive feel even at low settings. It is suitable for a wide range of musical genres and playing styles, making it a valuable tool for enhancing dynamics and refining overall guitar tone.
