The PC-2A is designed to provide musical and smooth compression, achieved through thermionic technology found in high-end vintage studio compressors. The signal path is 100% analogue, class A, based on a vintage Sylvania tube and a special design Silonex photo-resistive attenuator. The pedal is designed for flexibility, simplicity, and outstanding sound quality, utilizing audiophile-grade components and silver solder throughout the circuit.

The PC-2A features an all-tube audio path operating at amp plate voltages, ensuring maximum headroom and very low noise. It also includes a 'Proper' side-chain with A-weighted filtering, replicating the response of the human ear for natural and musical compression. The gain is controlled by an optical attenuator, ensuring minimal distortion and a smooth two-stage release characteristic.

The pedal also includes controls for Peak Reduction and Gain, as well as a Limit/Compress toggle switch to alter the transfer characteristic of the compressor input/output curve, enabling it to operate as a compressor and limiter. Additionally, it features a true bypass with 'anti-pop' or 'thump' foot-switching circuitry to reduce noise when engaging the pedal.
