The GainOver by TEFI Vintage Lab is a two-preset, British-voiced overdrive pedal with switchable channels and independent Gain and Volume controls. The "Low Gain" section ranges from a quasi-clean boost to a creamy full dynamic crunch with clear attack, while the "High Gain" section maintains these properties while producing more drive saturation. The pedal is designed based on the PCN (Progressive Clipping Network) proprietary circuit, a complex analog net designed to obtain a dynamic and progressive approach to distortion, reproducing the incoming saturation of an EL84 Class-A final stage of a tube amplifier.
Technical Specifications:
- Input impedance: 700k Ohm
- Output impedance: 470 Ohm
- Max Gain "Lo Gain" mode: +46dB
- Max Gain "HI Gain" mode: +65dB
- Signal switching: True-bypass
- Supply voltage/Current absorption: +9VDC/18mA
- Power connection/ground type: Negative tip/negative ground
- Battery supply: +9V (6LF22)
- Enclosure material: Hammond enclosure, aluminum die-cast
The GainOver pedal is designed to provide well-defined notes, whether playing melodic phrasing, rhythmic patterns, or sustained solos. It allows the musician to maintain the same sound during playing, from light crunch to hard overdrive soloing in one pedal. Additionally, GainOver can be used in a single-channel amplifier to obtain a typical three-channel configuration (Clean, Crunch, Drive) due to two independent Gain-Volume settable presets, allowing for limitless versatility.
