Bones Hollywood by Radial

The Bones Hollywood by Radial Engineering is a dual-mode distortion and overdrive pedal, modeled after 'American' tube amps, designed to transition seamlessly from clean to rhythm and lead tones. The pedal operates with a standard 9-volt power supply and features a solid-state version of the popular Tonebone Classic distortion pedal. The pedal includes the following features and functions:

1. IN: 1/4" input jack for the guitar.
2. OUT: 1/4” output jack connection to the amp.
3. PSU: Connection for 9-12 volt DC (center pin negative).
4. BYPASS: Footswitch toggles between distortion and clean bypass, with an on/off LED status indicator.
5. TOGGLE: Footswitch selects between the two channels, with LED status indicators for each channel.
6. DRIVE: Adjusts the overall amount of distortion.
7. HIGH & LOW: Two-band EQ for shaping treble and bass response.
8. CUT: Controls the overall mid-range character of the sound, with options for 0dB, +7dB, and +12dB of mid-range boost.
9. GAIN: Sets the range of distortion for the DRIVE control, with options for LOW, MED, and MAX levels of distortion.
10. LEVEL 1 & 2: Separate level controls for each channel, allowing adjustment of the overall output volume for rhythm and lead channels.

The Hollywood pedal is designed to produce sweet yet distinctive tones reminiscent of the best American tube amps, delivering real amp dynamics. It is configured for clean, rhythm, and lead playability, allowing seamless toggling between two output drive circuits using the toggle footswitch. The pedal also features a powerful dual-band equalizer with Radial’s distinctive passive-interactive tone circuit, a 3-position GAIN switch, and a 3-position CUT switch for additional mid-range drive or pickup fattening.

The Hollywood pedal is powered by an external power adapter that outputs 9 to 12 volts DC with a 2.1mm barrel jack wired center pin negative. The pedal draws a maximum of 100mA and is not powered by a battery. The pedal features active buffering in bypass mode, enabling longer cables without noise or tone loss, and employs Electronic Impulse Switching (EIS) for noiseless switching.
