The Cocaine Compressor Preamp by Okko FX is a versatile pedal that combines an optical compressor circuit with preamp and active equalizer functionalities. The compression is controlled by two knobs: SUSTAIN adds clean undistorted sustain to the tone, while SQUASH ranges from subtle tone-enhancing to a more pronounced compression effect, preserving the instrument's attack and character even at full tilt. The VOLUME knob allows for a clean boost, with unity gain around 12 o'clock, and the BASS and TREBLE knobs are active (cut/boost style) controls for effective tone shaping.

Additionally, the Cocaine features an independent BOOST circuit, activated by its own footswitch, providing a full-range clean boost or a lead boost with tighter bass and pronounced mids. This pedal is designed to enhance the sound of various instruments, including electric guitars, basses, and piezo-equipped acoustic guitars, making them sound more balanced and sit better in the mix.
