Super Phat Mod

The Super Phat Mod by Keeley is a dynamic overdrive pedal designed to deliver a full-range response and add tube-like breakup and harmonic saturation without altering the core tone of the instrument. The pedal features a flat mode for a flat response and a phat mode that adds a subtle bass boost. It is extremely touch-responsive and cleans up nicely with the guitar's volume knob. The controls include Level, Tone, and Drive, providing users with versatile tonal shaping capabilities.

The pedal is equipped with JFETs that emulate old tube amp stages, tube amp tone stacks, and a variety of tone shaping circuits to bring out the best in any guitar's pickups. The Super Phat Mod is designed to break up sweetly like a tube amp, thanks to its updated JFET gain circuit.

The Keeley Super Phat Mod is an in-house take on the Blues Driver, following the original pedal's topology but upgrading some key components. It is known for its natural break-up and dynamics, making it a popular choice for many players.

The original pedal design featured a switch to provide two modes of bass response, with a slight boost known as the Phat mode, catering to players of Strats and Teles who wanted a small push without muddiness. The Super Phat Mod retains this feature via a micro toggle.
