The Caprid by Wren and Cuff is a series of guitar pedals known for their vintage Muff recreations and high-quality components. The Caprid OG Red and Black-Violet Caprid OG are two notable models in this series.
The Black-Violet Caprid OG is a mid-70’s era Muff recreation featuring 3 hand- selected orange-dot and 1 violet-dot transistors, 1/2 watt carbon composition resistors, and high-quality caps and components. It is 100% hand-wired in Los Angeles and comes in a super heavy-duty folded steel enclosure with true hard- wired bypass. The pedal offers saturated and even tones with a milky warm sea of sustain, earthy lows, and a rich top-end, along with a signature Muff mid- scoop. It is designed for heavy use and comes with a lifetime warranty.
The Caprid Small Foot is a pedalboard-friendly version of the Caprid series, designed to fit into a 125-style box. It features quieter, metal film resistors, standard size metal film and ceramic capacitors, and a smaller PCB to fit into the compact enclosure. The sound is described as buttered nails, offering violin-smooth sustain and raunchy drive when adjusting the distortion knob. It provides a med-heavy mid-scoop and heavy saturation.
Both versions of the Caprid series are designed for guitarists seeking vintage Muff tones with modern reliability and build quality. These pedals are suitable for a wide range of musical styles and are built to withstand heavy use, making them ideal for professional musicians and enthusiasts alike.
