Golden Boy

The Golden Boy by Jackson Audio is a versatile and transparent overdrive pedal designed in collaboration with guitarist Joey Landreth. It features a 3-band active EQ, 4 presets for clipping options, and an innovative gain adjustment feature called GAIN CYCLE. The boost circuit, with 4 presets available, is in its own true bypass loop and is based on a MOSFET boost circuit. The pedal is based on the Bluesbreaker/King of Tone circuit, providing open, uncompressed, and transparent overdriven tones.

The Golden Boy allows for 4 different presets of clipping diodes, each drastically altering the tone and feel of the overdrive. The GAIN CYCLE feature divides the GAIN knob setting into 4 equal parts, allowing easy ramping of gain without bending down to adjust settings. The pedal also includes a 3-band active EQ based on the legendary Baxandall EQ, providing tremendous tonal flexibility.

MIDI control is available for clipping options, gain cycle options, boost EQ options, and ON/OFF of the overdrive and boost circuits. The pedal requires a MIDI (DIN-5) to TRS cable for MIDI use and ships with MIDI Channel 1 as the default, which can be changed by pressing and holding the DRIVE footswitch while applying power to the pedal.
