SOS Buffer

The J. Rockett SOS Buffer is a guitar signal buffer designed to address impedance issues and restore high-frequency loss in signal paths, particularly in setups with multiple pedals and long cable runs. The pedal features a single control knob, the SOS Control, which subtly adjusts the amount of top end in the signal path to achieve a balanced tone. This design allows users to dial in the highs as needed without causing interference with fuzz and wah pedals.

The pedal is built into a rugged stainless-steel case with metal jacks, measuring approximately 2.5 inches square. It can be powered by a 9V battery or a center-negative Boss-compatible power connector for external power. A red LED indicator shows when the pedal is powered up. The SOS Buffer does not have a bypass option, as it is intended to be always on.

In use, the SOS Buffer effectively restores missing highs and is compatible with wah and fuzz pedals. It can also be used in front of an audio interface to match the guitar to a line input. The pedal is recommended for pedalboard setups to address impedance and high-frequency loss issues.
