Description

The Long Life by Fairfield Circuitry is a state-variable filter with a wide range and versatile application. It combines tilt and notch/boost equalization around a 2nd-order (-12dB/octave) state-variable core. This pedal serves as a one-band parametric equalizer with additional features including a shelving filter from low-pass to high-pass, CV inputs for resonance (Q) and frequency (F), V/octave scaling synthesizer interface, fully variable Q that can lead to self-oscillations, soft clip zener zesty mordant, and expression pedal input to control center frequency.

The Long Life offers a flexible tone stack for careful tuning of the desired response and can be stacked before or after other pedals for dramatic emphasis or de-emphasis. It can also be used with an expression pedal for wah-type effects, as a standalone channel strip EQ for outboard processing, or integrated with a modular synthesizer mindset to act as a VCF and a VCO. Additionally, it can be used with external CV control such as sequencers and keyboards.

The pedal is designed to be unique and robust, and it is made in Hull, Québec.
