The Electro-Harmonix BASS9 Bass Machine is a polyphonic pedal that transforms a guitar into nine different basses without requiring special pickups, MIDI, or instrument modifications. It features a new algorithm optimized for transposing one to two octaves down with superior dynamics and tracking. The pedal pays homage to nine iconic bass sounds and includes the following bass emulations: PRECISION, LONGHORN, FRETLESS, SYNTH, VIRTUAL, BOWED, SPLIT BASS, 3:03, and FLIP-FLOP.
The pedal is equipped with independent Effect and Dry volume controls, allowing precise mix tuning at the Effects output jack. It also includes an always-active Dry output jack that outputs the input signal at unity gain. The BASS9 comes with a standard EHX 9.6DC200mA power supply.
