Compact Series Tone

The Compact Series Tone by British Pedal Company is available in two variants, the MKI and MKII Tone Bender. The MKI version features a small casing and is based on the MKI Tone Bender circuit. It is handmade in the UK and utilizes Germanium PNP transistors. The pedal includes level and attack controls, as well as a negative 9V DC power inlet. The MKI version is known for its bright and high-gain sound, with a raspy tone in a 2-transistor circuit.

On the other hand, the MKII Tone Bender is a detailed replica of the 1966 PROFESSIONAL MK II, housed in a pedal board-friendly casing. It is equipped with 3x OC81D transistors (OC75 by request), level and attack controls, and a negative 9V inlet. The OC81D transistors provide a smooth gain with lots of saturation.

Both variants of the Compact Series Tone Bender require their own isolated 9V power supply due to the nature of the PNP transistors, which cannot be used with a daisy-chained supply.

These pedals are known for their historical significance, having been used by renowned artists such as Jeff Beck, Mick Ronson, and Jimmy Page.
