Rabid Mammal by Black Arts Toneworks

The Rabid Mammal by Black Arts Toneworks is a boost/fuzz pedal developed in collaboration with Matt Pike of Sleep/High on Fire. It consists of two separate circuits that complement and push your tone in two different directions. The Boost function adds a searing amount of treble and upper mids, with controls for Treble and Volume. The Fuzz function adds a thunderous amount of low mids and a foggy low end with a loose, sludgy feel, with controls for Volume, Fuzz, Tone, High, Pre, and a toggle for Led or Mosfet clipping. The switching is independent and true bypass. The pedal features artwork by Matt Pike and Alyssa Maucere, with graphic layout by Jason at Gr8Scott Graphics.

The Rabid Mammal V2, previously available as a custom shop version called the Rabid Mammal GREEN, has all the stock original Rabid Mammal tones with the addition of three toggles for alternate tonal shaping. The boost section is a Witch Boost with an added GRN low gain switch, providing a more solid and larger sonic boost. The fuzz section is a partially stripped Supreme, utilizing the Pharaoh tonestack for blasted mids and LED or mosfet clipping. The addition of two toggles gives alternate GREEN tones on the tone controls, allowing for a wide range of available mid control.

The Rabid Mammal is designed to deliver loose, dark, and fuzzy tones until the boost is engaged, at which point it produces a super thick yet edgy tone. The pedal is not trying to recreate the past, and it offers further flexibility to an already legendary device.
