Vextron Series Mastotron

The ZVEX Vextron Series Mastotron is a heavy silicon fuzz pedal with unique features designed for guitar and bass applications. The pedal's dimensions are 4.70" x 2.38" x 1.82". It incorporates an input impedance control (push/relax) that adjusts from passive pickups to line level, making it suitable for re- amping bass tracks and keyboards. The pedal also features a three-position sub control switch, a treble tone control, adjustable pulse width, and a wide fuzz depth control. The controls include:

- RELAX/PUSH: Introduces source impedance to the signal going into the Mastotron.
- FUZZ: Allows setting the fuzz intensity.
- PW: Pulse Width control for adjusting the pulse width from square wave to narrow pulses.
- TONE: Shapes the treble without sacrificing the heavy subs.
- VOL: Output volume.
- SUBS Switch: Offers three settings for controlling the amount of sub content in the fuzz.

The pedal operates with one 9V battery (preferably alkaline) or a DC power jack (standard Boss configuration with center negative). It has a low current operation, providing long battery life with a current draw of approximately 1mA. The pedal is suitable for interfacing with digital devices like recorders and keyboards. It is recommended to place the Mastotron first in the pedal chain, just after the guitar, for optimal performance.

For battery replacement, the pedal's bottom panel can be accessed by removing the four screws. The pedal's circuit ensures extraordinarily long battery life due to its low current operation.
