Plextortion

The Plextortion by Wampler is a distortion pedal designed to emulate the sound of a "JCM800" with Celestion Greenbacks, popularized in the 1980s rock era. It features controls for Gain and Volume, as well as a full 3-band EQ for precise tone shaping. The pedal offers a tight, brown-sounding distortion, similar to the Pinnacle pedal, with a difference in the tightness of the distortion compared to the Pinnacle's looser, power tube-like distortion. The Plextortion is known for delivering high-gain tones that appear to be both pre-amp and power-amp driven.

The pedal is powered by a 9V battery and has a power draw of 12mA. Its compact design and voicing switch for Modern and Vintage tonal characters make it suitable for a wide range of rock and metal styles. The Plextortion also features high-grade film capacitors and resistors selected for superior sound quality and is equipped with true bypass switching for transparent signal routing.
