The Tech 21 Roto Choir is a rotary speaker emulator pedal that accurately reproduces the sound of a vintage rotating speaker cabinet. It incorporates specifically formulated SansAmp technology to deliver the entire signal chain, from the original tube power amp to the low-frequency speaker and high- frequency horn, to the microphone used to capture it. This studio-quiet, roadworthy pedal can be used with guitar, keyboards, synths, and vocals, and for direct recording.

The Roto Choir offers an array of intuitive controls, including a Fast/Slow footswitch for ramping up, slowing down, or stopping the rotating speaker, a dedicated Top Speed control to set the rotor speed, and a Position control to adjust the virtual mic closer to or further from the horns. Additionally, it features a Drive control to adjust the amount of compression, harmonics, and grit, active dual-band EQ, and Level control.
Other notable features include a Biamped switch for changing to single speaker mode, a Speaker Sim switch for direct recording, stereo output, buffered bypass, and a silent-switching custom footswitch actuator. The pedal is operable with a 9V battery (not included) or an optional DC power supply.
The Roto Choir is designed to accommodate instrument level signals and can be used in various applications, including in-line with an amp, for direct recording into a mixer or computer, and with keyboards and vocals. It is important to note that the pedal should not be run directly into the input of an amp's speaker output.
