Description

The Spring Theory by Subdecay is a reverb effect pedal designed specifically for guitar use. It simulates the sound and feel of a real tube-driven black face reverb, reacting dynamically to the attack of each note played. The pedal offers vintage wet surfy reverb sounds typically found in amplifiers and standalone spring reverb units.

Key features and specifications of the Spring Theory include:
- Two reverb settings: Spring and Room. The Spring setting provides authentic spring reverb emulation, while the Room setting simulates various room sizes and characteristics.
- Controls: The pedal features reverb and depth knobs for adjusting the effect volume and length, a tone control for dialing in the perfect timbre, and a decay knob for dampening the springs or creating long resonating trails.
- Signal path: The clean signal path is all analog, with JFET amplifiers carrying out the send and recovery of the reverb signal for tube-like dynamics.
- Power requirements: The pedal is powered by a regulated 9VDC to 18VDC adapter with a negative center 2.1mm barrel style plug. It does not have a battery option. The current draw is less than 100mA.
- Construction: The Spring Theory is hand-made in Oregon and housed in a durable die-cast metal enclosure. It features 3PDT switches for true bypass switching and a red LED indicator.
- Dimensions: The pedal measures 4.4″ in length, 2.3″ in width, and 1.0″ in height.

Additionally, the Super Spring Theory, an enhanced version of the original Spring Theory, offers new features such as separate level controls for dry and reverb sounds, wide-range tone control, and the ability to hear reverb tails when bypassed.
