The Aurora by Spaceman Effects is an analog BBD flanger pedal featuring a 5-mode modulation bus with 2 LFOs, 2 tape emulations, and a static comb filter, offering a range of flange, vibrato, chorus, and phase effects. The pedal is 100% analog and utilizes a Bucket Brigade Device (BBD) circuit. It provides controls for Regen (feedback), Rate (Rise) of the modulation, Range (Fall) of the modulation, Width, and Mix. The modulation bus includes two LFO modes, two tape modes, and one unswept comb filtering mode, allowing for various modulation shapes and behaviors.
The LFO 1 mode produces a triangle waveshape suitable for traditional flanger effects, chorus, phasing, and pitch-shifting vibrato. The LFO 2 mode offers discrete control over the rise and fall times, enabling the creation of ramp up, triangle, and ramp down waveforms. The TAPE modes mimic tape deck manipulation, allowing for upward and downward sweeps, while the COMB mode freezes the modulation and provides static delay times that can be switched between.
The Aurora is true bypass and can be powered via an included 9V battery or an optional 9VDC power supply (mini 300mA). It measures 101 x 121 x 56 mm and weighs 396 g. The pedal is hand-wired and built in the USA.
