The Motel by Pine Box Customs is a versatile overdrive/distortion circuit designed with a cleaner, more overdriven feel compared to the original. It features the following technical specifications:
- Internal voltage doubling circuit, utilizing a premium chip, taking the
pedal from 7v to a high headroom 18v power input.
- Toggle switch for switching between a compressed, hard clipping distortion
circuit and a more open, uncompressed overdriven sound reminiscent of tube
breakup.
- Extended gain range and special attention to low/high filtering with
reduced mid focus, suitable for lower gain and overdriven sound.
- Doubled input impedance to reduce tone sucking and preserve the original
sonic features of the guitar, allowing the chip to begin clipping and reducing
the need for diode clipping.
- Redesigned buffered output control to act as a post-gain amplifier,
providing more gain and volume.
- Controls: VOLUME (overall output volume), TONE (high/low frequencies),
DRIVE (overall gain), and TRANSMITTER (toggled up for lower gain, louder, and
less compressed circuit; toggled down for a more traditional feel with more
gain).
- True Bypass
- High-quality rean jacks
- Enclosures milled, powdered, and printed by Pine-Box
- Built from start to finish in the USA
- 9V Standard negative ground power
- All pedals made by hand in Memphis, TN, USA
