The Pettyjohn Electronics Crush Compressor is a studio-grade compressor pedal powered by a unique Discrete Voltage Controlled Amplifier (VCA). The pedal operates within a 12V to 18V center tip negative operation range, providing up to 36 volts of swing for high headroom. It features a TILT EQ circuit for versatile tone shaping, a CLEAN MIX knob for blending the dry signal with the compressed signal, and a compression control that offers a wide range of compression settings from subtle to heavy. The pedal also includes three Ratio settings (2:1, 4:1, and 10:1) and a three-position Release setting for further customization.
The Crush Compressor is designed with a discrete VCA chip, providing high headroom and a clean, natural tone. The signal path utilizes high-quality components such as 1% metal film resistors, WIMA coupling caps, and top-shelf Burr Browns op-amps to preserve the integrity of the guitar's tone. The pedal requires 12V-18V of standard center tip negative power with at least 150mA to operate cleanly.
