The Nigel by Lounsberry Pedals is a multi-stage FET preamp with gain staging and Germanium diodes, designed to provide a touch-responsive overdrive that emulates the dynamics of a vintage tube amplifier. The pedal is known for its warm, natural sound and is suitable for guitarists of all skill levels. It features two stages of amplification cascaded to provide significant push for the Germanium clipping diodes, allowing for a wide range of tones from warm semi-clean to full-on classic rock crunch and saturated lead tones. The Nigel is also noted for its full-range response, making it suitable for use with keyboards as well.
Technical Specifications:
- Power: 9 volts, 100mA
- Plug: 2.1mm x 5.5mm, negative tip
- True Bypass
- 9V Battery Included
The Nigel Touch Overdrive was the first design by Lounsberry Pedals and was initially built into an Altoids box before being housed in a rugged stomp box enclosure. It is hand-wired and features all discrete components, with no integrated circuits or surface mount components. The pedal is designed to provide a dynamic touch response similar to that of a vintage tube amplifier, offering a natural and warm sound.
