JPTR FX

Description

The Katastrophe - Sludgefest Dominator by JPTR FX is a distortion preamp pedal designed with specific technical specifications. The pedal measures 12 x 15 x 6 cm with knobs and requires a 9V DC PSU with a center-negative, 2.1 mm power supply. It includes an internal 18V.

The pedal is built to create a gain circuit based on the sound of a highly modded British full stack, with an effective EQ section suitable for clean and dirty amps. It is designed to work perfectly in front of the amp and as a full preamp into a rental amp on stage.

The pedal comes equipped with various external and internal knobs for radical manipulation. The Volume knob determines the intensity of pushing the amp or the loudness when using the Katastrophe as a preamp. The Gain knob controls the distortion level, while the EQ section includes Bass, Treble, and Presence controls, with Presence managing higher frequencies than the Treble knob.

Additionally, the pedal features an externally located low cut for removing low rumble, an analog Octave Up section with more gain than usual octave-up circuits, and internal Highcut switches for controlling the highs even more. It also allows for boosting both the low end and the dry signal independently and in parallel, providing versatility for different playing styles.

The pedal's internal Postgain trim pot enables adjustment to function optimally with the pickup output. These technical specifications make the Katastrophe - Sludgefest Dominator a versatile and powerful tool for shaping and enhancing guitar tones.
