The Castilleja by Flower Pedals is a 4-stage analog optical phaser with digital controls. It features two different voicings: the first is a standard 4-stage phaser akin to classics such as the Phase 90, and the second is voiced like the classic Univibe. The pedal offers 3 levels of feedback (none, low, and high) and the option to switch between chorus (50/50 wet and dry) and vibrato (mostly wet) modes. Additionally, it has four continuously variable waveforms selected via the Shape Knob, with frequency and depth of the LFO controlled by the Speed and Intensity knobs. The Level knob controls the overall output volume with plenty of boost on tap.
The Castilleja also features three different speed ramping modes in addition to tap tempo with four different subdivisions. These modes include Momentary ramping, Latch ramping, and Drift mode, which modulates the speed up and down to a different LFO. The pedal operates on 9V center negative, with less than 100 mA.
Furthermore, it includes an Exp/Tap jack, allowing for the use of an external tap connection to control tap and ramp or an expression pedal to control the speed. An internal switch enables the choice between expression and tap. Additionally, users can choose whether the pedal defaults to on or off on power up by holding the On footswitch while plugging in power.
The Castilleja is available for purchase on the Flower Pedals Webstore for $249.
