The Electronic Audio Experiments Dagger is a simplified and miniaturized iteration of the Longsword op amp drive. It features core gain stages and a dual-band shelving EQ for simplicity and flexibility. The electrical specifications include relay switching with true bypass, an input impedance of 500kΩ at 1 kHz, an output impedance of less than 25K at 1 kHz (passive volume control), and a power requirement of 9-18V DC with a current draw of 50 mA. It is recommended to use a regulated, isolated power supply rated for a minimum of 100 mA. The controls include Volume (output volume), Drive (adjustable overdrive), Low/High (James/Baxandall tone stack with shelving filters), and Shift (toggle for adjusting the low-frequency contour). The V2 version, as of July 2021, includes updated mechanical format, soft-touch relay bypass switching, added Shift toggle, more robust power supply and EMI filtering, and updated Low/High EQ points to match Longsword V4.5 update.
