The Sunn O))) Life Pedal by EarthQuaker Devices is a distortion pedal with a blendable analog octave up and a booster. The pedal features a compact design and includes the following technical specifications:

The pedal's circuit has been meticulously tweaked to maximize heavy crushing tone, with the octave section fine-tuned to make it more pronounced without losing the bottom end. It also includes a third footswitch, utilizing Flexi- Switch Technology, for the octave to allow quick and radical tone shaping.

The "Amplitude" side of the pedal is faithfully modeled after the classic "White Face" distortion unit, using modern, reliable components. The pedal introduces two additional clipping options to adapt to different rigs, providing a range of crunch and compression options.

The "Octave" in the pedal is an all-discrete, analog full-wave rectifier circuit that slowly blends in the octave effects as the control is turned clockwise. The "Magnitude" section is a simple all-discrete MOSFET booster designed to add very little color to the tone while providing plenty of output to push the amp into saturation.

The signal path goes Octave > Distortion > Boost, and the octave distortion and booster can be used independently with their own respective footswitches.

The pedal also features various controls including Octave, Distortion, Filter, Magnitude, and a Clipping Switch, as well as an Octave EXP input for expression pedal control.
