The Killer V by Crazy Tube Circuits is a pedal inspired by unique amplifiers from California in the 1950s and 60s, featuring a distinct, true pitch- shifting vibrato circuit. The pedal replicates the behavior, sound, and feel of the preamp, phase inverter, power amp, and the compression/sag of tube rectification found in these vintage designs. It applies JFET technology and an internal voltage multiplier for high headroom and a tube-like tone, recreating both overdriven and lower gain/clean sounds. The pedal also recreates the vibrato effect using an all-analog LFO to drive two discrete phase shift modulation stages, creating a pitch modulation effect reminiscent of the original amplifiers. The pedal features true bypass, 9V DC power, volume, master, bass, and treble controls, separate speed/depth vibrato controls, a bright toggle, and wet/dry toggle.
