The Benson Amps Preamp Pedal is based on the Chimera 30 watt guitar amplifier circuit, utilizing FET transistors instead of vacuum tubes. This results in an extremely amp-like and versatile clean boost/overdrive/fuzz pedal that imparts rich harmonics and a very musical EQ to the signal chain. The pedal features controls for Gain, Volume, Treble, and Bass. It operates on a 9VDC Boss style adapter or battery with a power requirement of 50ma. The pedal is designed to provide the firepower and tone of the Chimera 30-watt head in a compact stompbox format, offering a versatile and amp-like performance for guitarists.
