Riot

The Riot by Suhr is a versatile high-gain distortion pedal designed to deliver the sonic characteristics and touch sensitivity of a high-quality 100-watt tube amplifier. It is capable of transforming a clean amp into an authoritative rock tone suitable for various playing styles. The pedal features an easy-to-tweak layout, including controls for Distortion, Level, Tone, and a three-position Voicing switch. The Voicing switch offers three settings: Left for a natural, organic tone, Middle for high gain with a solid midrange and tight bottom end, and Right for a vintage high gain response with excellent definition.

The pedal operates with an input impedance of 1M ohm and an output impedance of 600 ohm. It is powered by a 9Vdc, center-negative power connector, with an operating voltage range of 4V to 18V (nominal 9V). The pedal consumes 8mA of current and has an estimated battery life of 75 – 100 hours of continuous use. Its dimensions are 2.50” Width x 4.50” Depth x 1.25” Height, and it weighs 0.75 pounds.

Additional features include True Bypass via a relay, FX Link connector for remote control, low battery monitor, and overvoltage protection. The pedal also offers a versatile three-position voicing switch, emphasizing upper mid frequencies for a sweeter, more cutting tone without sounding harsh or fatiguing.

The Suhr Riot Reloaded, an updated version of the original Riot, offers 30% more gain and a modified tone control to emphasize upper mid frequencies for a sweeter, more cutting tone. It also features a versatile three-position voicing switch, true bypass, FX Link connector, and low battery monitor.
