The MXR Raijin Drive Overdrive is a pedal designed in collaboration with Shin Suzuki, Japan's celebrated amp and pedal designer. This pedal reinvents two iconic Japanese stompboxes—an overdrive and a distortion—with greater tonal range and usability to keep up with modern tone demands.
The Raijin Drive features a smooth, fat, and wide-open overdrive signal, while the distortion signal delivers an aggressive, harmonically rich punch with just enough gain for heavy tones. The pedal includes the following external controls:
1. LEVEL knob: adjusts the overall volume of the effect
2. DRIVE SELECT switch: toggles between distortion and overdrive signals
3. TONE knob: adjusts the EQ of the effect
4. DRIVE knob: adjusts the amount of overdrive/distortion
5. FOOTSWITCH: toggles the effect on/bypass (blue LED indicates when it's on)
The Raijin Drive is powered by one 9-volt battery (remove bottom plate to install), the Dunlop ECB003 9-volt adapter, or the DC Brick™, Iso-Brick™, and Mini Iso-Brick™ power supplies.
Specifications:
- Input Impedance: 120 kΩ @1KHz
- Output Impedance: 5 kΩ @1KHz
- Max Input Level: 5.1 VPP VPP
- Noise Floor: Dist -100.5 dBm, OD -104.0 dB
