The King

The King by Menatone is an overdrive pedal designed to simulate the sound of classic British amplifiers. It features an all-analog circuit with ultra- bright LED, easy access battery, and true bypass switching. The pedal has external power supply jack (- center, + ring) and uses silver-plated, teflon- coated wire, as well as shielded wire from input to output jacks to switch. The use of only carbon resistors and film capacitors in the signal path ensures high-quality sound. The pedal also offers foot switchable boost from unity to approximately 12dB.

The King of the Britains is based on a 1968 Plexi circuit, providing a range of tones from vintage Plexi to full tilt modern distortion. It includes a Plexi EQ for British crunch and features voice switch options to mimic different responses of the two channels of the original amps. The pedal's boost is a clean boost usable with or without the amp simulation circuit and can take the King to high levels of distortion.

The dimensions of the pedal are 4"x4.5"x1.5". It operates with an input impedance of 1M ohm and an output impedance of less than 50k ohm. The power supply requirement is +9v Alkaline battery or power supply only, as the pedal is voltage doubled internally.

The King by Menatone is suitable for a wide range of use-cases, from clean tones to bluesy JTM45 in lower gain settings, to roaring, snarling Plexi crunch in mid-gain, and liquid, searing brutality in cranked settings. This makes it a versatile tool for guitarists seeking to achieve classic British amplifier sounds.
