Description

The Maxon CS550 Stereo Chorus pedal is a classic analog chorus circuit based on the Boss CE-1, offering a wide range of standard chorus effects and unique "spatial" effects unavailable with other chorus units. The pedal features a Panasonic MN3207 Bucket Brigade IC and Delay Time and Effect Blend controls. Its design is based around the Panasonic MN3207, providing a bold and resonant chorus effect without sounding harsh. The CS550's custom-tuned oscillator circuit allows for authentic rotary speaker simulation and lush vibrato.

The Delay Time control can venture into flanger territory, adding a resonant, hollow quality to the effect that's great for solos. The pedal also features a rear-mounted Blend control to adjust the level of the chorus effect against the dry signal. Additionally, the CS550 can create spatial effects that add dimension to the guitar tone without the traditional chorus wobble.

The CS550 offers stereo outputs for mono, stereo, or inverted mono signal routing, and it is about as close as you're going to get to the legendary Boss CE-1 chorus/vibrato sound. The pedal also features Mechanical True Bypass switching on both outputs via a Fujisoku 4PDT switch.
