The JHS Smiley is a fuzz pedal inspired by first-era silicon model Arbiter fuzzes. It is designed to replicate the sound and characteristics of the early silicon Fuzz Faces. The pedal features two simple controls: Volume and Fuzz. The Volume control sets the overall output level of the effect, while the Fuzz control adjusts the distortion level. Additionally, the pedal includes a "Mode" control button that activates the unique "JHS Mode," sending the Smiley into high gain/gated fuzz territory.
