Optimist

The Optimist by Jackson Audio is a versatile dual overdrive and EQ pedal designed in collaboration with Cory Wong. It offers two separately switchable mid-gain overdrive circuits and a studio-grade EQ circuit. The OD1 circuit is based on a Klon-style circuit featuring mystical Germanium diodes, while the OD2 circuit is a Timmy-style transparent full-range overdrive circuit. The active Baxandall-inspired 3-band EQ provides +/- 12dB Boost/Cut per band for optimal tone shaping.

The pedal features MIDI control over all functions, allowing users to control OD1, OD2, and EQ via MIDI for an unlimited selection of tones. The EQ circuit can be activated by pressing and releasing both the OD1 and OD2 footswitches, and it is post OD's and can also be used as a standalone feature. The controls for the EQ light up to indicate that the EQ is activated.
