Asabi

The Asabi by Jackson Audio is a signature overdrive/distortion pedal designed in collaboration with Mateus Asato. It features a groundbreaking technology that allows for replaceable analog distortion plug-ins, enabling users to swap the distortion circuit without purchasing a new pedal. The stock distortion plug-in, called the MODERN HIGH GAIN, is a high-gain, hard-clipping circuit based on the Marshall JCM800, providing open, crisp tones suitable for various rock genres.

The pedal offers four different presets of clipping diodes, each drastically altering the tone and feel of the distortion clips. Additionally, it features a 3-band active EQ for the distortion circuit and a touch-sensitive overdrive circuit with four clipping options. The overdrive circuit can be used independently or to boost the front end of the distortion circuit for higher gain.

The Asabi also includes MIDI control over clipping presets, gain cycle options, drive EQ options, and ON/OFF of the overdrive and drive circuits. It requires a power supply of 9V DC with a maximum input voltage of 9V and a center-negative polarity. The pedal has a true bypass (relay) for each channel, an input impedance of 1M, an output impedance of 100k, and a minimum current requirement of 120mA. The dimensions of the pedal are 2.7” x 4.875″.
