Description

The Ibanez NU TUBESCREAMER is a compact overdrive pedal that incorporates KORG's Nutube technology into its circuitry, resulting in exceptional dynamics, improved sensitivity, and natural tube compression. The pedal features controls for Drive, Tone, Level, and Mix, with the Mix knob allowing the user to balance the clean and overdriven signals. At the center position, it provides a mix equivalent to that of traditional Tubescreamers, while turning it counterclockwise injects more of the clean signal and turning it clockwise decreases the clean tone, producing a fuller overdriven signal.

The NU TUBESCREAMER can be powered by a DC9-18V (Negative Center) power supply or one 006P 9V battery, and it has a current draw of 50mA@9V, 60mA@18V. It also features relay true bypass switching for seamless activation and deactivation.

The Nutube technology utilized in the pedal is a revolutionary vacuum tube developed by KORG Inc. and Noritake Itron Corp. It has an extremely low power consumption, about 2% of a 12AX7, and a lifespan exceeding 30,000 hours. The overdriven sound is created by Nutube, similar to an all-tube pre-amp, and is mixed with the clean signal and passed through a discrete circuit, resulting in natural compression and huge headroom.

The NU TUBESCREAMER allows up to an 18V power supply, providing more headroom with increased volume. It uses 50mA of current, making it compatible with most normal power supplies.

The pedal's compact size of 71mm (W) x 124mm (D) x 53mm (H) and its development collaboration with KORG Nutube make it a versatile and unique addition to the Tubescreamer lineup. Made in Japan, the NU TUBESCREAMER is a cutting-edge overdrive pedal that offers a blend of classic Tubescreamer sound with modern Nutube technology.
