The Athos by Frost Giant Electronics is a distortion pedal designed for Thrash, Sludge, and low-tuned Doom genres. It is known for its potent Doom Sludge Distortion and is suitable for creating highly textured high-gain distortion. The pedal features the following controls:
Top Row:
- Boost: Pushes the signal and adds more volume
- Presence: Adds more bite to the tone
- Saturation: Adds more hair and saturation
Bottom Row:
- Volume: Controls the overall volume of the pedal
- Tone: Counter-clockwise provides a deeper, softer tone, while cranking it
adds cut and aggression
- Gain: Provides a M*rshall-like crunch at zero, with the ability to achieve
clean tones when turned off
The Athos V2 has been redesigned with a smaller footprint while maintaining the same massive tone as before. It is handmade in Texas and is described as a fire breather that fits on any pedalboard, large or small.
