The Scrambled Brainz by Fredric Effects is a clone of the rare and desirable Ampeg Scrambler, faithful to the originals with the addition of a 9V power jack, status LED, true bypass, and a volume control. It is a harsh upper- octave fuzz with a few ring-mod tones thrown in. The "Texture" knob sets the amount of upper octave fuzz, allowing for a range from a 'normal' fuzz pedal to octave and ring-mod sounds, while the "Blend" knob sets the mix with the clean guitar sound. Additionally, a boost circuit and volume control have been added due to popular demand, eliminating the need to settle for the unity gain of the original circuit.
The pedal features unique custom artwork by Stacey Hine and is professionally powder coated and screen printed onto enclosures. It is constructed using PCB (Printed Circuit Board) technology, not perf or vero, and utilizes high- quality components such as Neutrik or Lumberg jacks, Alpha footswitch, and pots. The pedal is housed in a small, pedal-board friendly, professionally painted MXR-sized enclosure.
In summary, the Scrambled Brainz is designed to deliver a unique and versatile upper-octave fuzz experience, with added features and high-quality construction for reliable performance.
