DOD

Description

The DOD FX51 Juice Box is an overdrive pedal designed to add an extra boost to a distorted amp channel. It features a 3-band EQ, volume, gain, and tone controls, and true bypass functionality. The pedal is powered by a nine-volt battery or power supply. The Juice Box is an analog pedal and is not rack- mountable as it is a stomp box. It was introduced at the Winter 1996 NAMM meeting and was the first overdrive pedal introduced by DOD since the FX53 Classic Tube in 1990. The FX51 Juice Box was discontinued by early 1998. The pedal is designed to add the right amount of distortion to a guitar when it is already running into a distorted amplifier. It features independent controls for low and high EQ, and its harmonics stand out, allowing users to achieve various tones, from tube-like scream to rock-a-billy twang. The pedal is equipped with two 4558-type op amps and is loosely based on the FX100 and FX101 circuits.
