The Genesis 1 by DigiTech is a desktop amp modeling device featuring GENETX⢠amp models, cabinets, and effects processing. It offers a simplified version of the Genesis 3 modeling guitar preamp/effects unit, providing a reduced feature set at a lower price. The device includes eleven amp types and eleven cabinet types, which can be modified using Gain, Bass, Mid, Treble, and Level controls. The effects section permits compression, noise gate, one modulation effect, and one delay/reverb effect to be used simultaneously. The reverb type changes automatically depending on the amp model selected. The modulation effect can be chorus, phaser, or tremolo, with control over the modulation rate. The delay section includes tap tempo functionality and a footswitch jack for remote bypassing of the effects section. The device does not have 'amp morphing' or a digital output, but it includes a CD input for playing along to backing tracks and monitoring via the stereo headphone output jack. The Genesis 1 is a simple, effective, and good-sounding device suitable for electric guitar and other electronic instruments.
