The Bootleg Dirty Delay by Daredevil Pedals is a digital delay pedal that utilizes the Princeton 2399 IC, designed to produce classic tones reminiscent of vintage tape machines and emulating bucket brigade analog delay circuits. It features a Dirt section in the circuit, adding gain to the repeats, resulting in increasingly lo-fi and dirty sounds when driven at intense or longer settings. The decay becomes brighter as it tails off, contrary to most "tape style" delay units.
Technical specifications include:
- True Bypass
- Hand Wired
- Runs on only an external 9V power source
- 2.1mm center pin power supply, negative ground
- Current draw is approximately 25 mA
The pedal also includes Tap Tempo functionality, allowing for remote setting capability using a momentary switch. The delay interval is set by tapping, with only 2 taps within range required to set it. The delay interval is averaged over the last 5 active taps within range, with a maximum range of quarter note taps at 560ms or approximately 108bpm.
