The Parabola by Caroline Guitar Company is a solid-state tremolo effects pedal that offers a range of features and functionalities. It is designed with a transistor-generated waveform tremolo, influenced by the vintage Schaller TR-68/TR-316 “West Germany” tremolo pedals. The pedal includes a volume control with up to +12db of clean gain, as well as a preamplifier drive stage based on the “invader” preamp of Caroline Guitar Company's Kilobyte and Météore pedals.
The Parabola offers two modulation modes: amplitude modulation (AM) and filtered modulation (FM). The AM mode provides a classic, wobbly tremolo effect, while the FM mode creates a frequency-dependent shimmering effect that is less invasive on your playing. The pedal also features speed, fast/slow, and depth ranges that have been improved from vintage schematics, and the depth can be zeroed out to utilize the preamp and booster alone. Additionally, the Havoc function inverts the chosen speed range and opens up the depth control for on-demand modulation adjustments.
Overall, the Parabola is designed to provide a versatile and customizable tremolo experience, with a focus on delivering classic tremolo effects as well as innovative modulation capabilities.
