The Equilibrium by Alexander Pedals is a vintage modulation pedal that offers various features and technical specifications:
- Power Supply: It requires a 9V DC power supply with a 2.1mm pin, center negative. The pedal should be powered from an output or supply capable of providing at least 75mA of current.
- Controls:
- Rate (Level): Adjusts the rate of modulation from a slow fade to a rapid
pulse. Holding down the Bypass / Level footswitch allows adjustment of the
overall output level of the effect.
- Depth: Controls the amount of modulation from subtle to intense.
- Shape: Selects one of four waveforms to control the modulation effect:
Sine, Ramp Up, Ramp Down, or Square.
- Mix: Blends between the dry and the modulated signals.
- Mode Toggle: The central toggle switch selects from three different modulation effects: Tremolo, Harmonic Tremolo, and Vibrato. Each effect has specific controls and characteristics.
- Stereo Output: The Equilibrium features a TRS (tip-ring-sleeve) output jack, allowing for stereo output with a mix of effected (wet) and clean signals.
- Remote Tap Tempo Jack: Connect a normally-open momentary footswitch to set the modulation time remotely. Hold down the remote footswitch to change tap divisions.
- Bypass Switching: The Equilibrium features buffered bypass switching with a soft-touch footswitch.
The Equilibrium DLX takes inspiration from vintage modulation effects while incorporating modern conveniences such as tap tempo and stereo outputs. It offers a versatile range of modulation effects and controls for shaping the modulation characteristics.
