The Tim Overdrive by Paul Cochrane, also known as the Timmy Overdrive, is a highly regarded pedal known for its transparent overdrive capabilities and touch sensitivity. The pedal runs on +9vdc with a current draw of 30ma and uses the standard "center pin negative" 2.1mm power supplies. It features a 3-way HI CUT switch for extra control and a 3-way clipping switch with new asymmetrical settings. The pedal is designed with a shorter enclosure than previous versions, with all the pots on top and all the jacks on the back. The Tim Overdrive is equipped with a Soft Switch relay circuit that minimizes the loud pop/click when engaging the switches. It also includes an internal voltage converter, allowing it to be powered by +9vdc only. The pedal is true bypass and offers a responsive, tube amplifier-like touch sensitivity, providing a range of gritty and textured tones while preserving the fundamental character of the rig. The Tim Overdrive is designed to effortlessly enhance the sound of an amplifier, offering smooth, singing, round, and reedy tones at higher gain settings. The pedal's EQ can be adjusted to achieve round, sweet, and mellow Fender "Knobs at 6" tones. Additionally, the FX loop is tied in with the boost for added flexibility in that mode.
